Ever wanted to try roller skates on? Join a league, wanted to know what the heck roller derby is or just want to have fun? Then come down to RecWest in Footscray and have a morning of derbyness!!!
No previous skate skills or experience is required. We will take you through the basics and get you rolling around. Then you can watch current league members at scrimmage!
Westside Derby Dollz are the only roller derby league in Melbourne’s west. We are a mixed-gender league aiming to bring inclusive, competitive and accessible roller derby to the west.
Westsides Come & Try Derby day is an opportunity to find out more about derby, meet skaters, officials and coaches. You’ll get to learn the basics of roller skating with plenty of support from westside skaters and coaches, ask questions, and watch a scrimmage (training match) with skaters from westside’s league, bouting teams the Wreckers and West Side Glory.

Even if you don’t want to skate we are always looking for non skating officials and more, so come on down and have a chat. There are so many ways you can be involved with your local roller derby leauge, so if this interests you, visit us and we’ll find something suitable for your level of interest.

WHO: Anybody aged over 16 – all genders welcome
BRING: Comfy sport clothes, runners, water bottle.
COST: $25 for Skate Victoria insurance

Absolutely NO skating experience is necessary!
Skates and safety equipment will be available to borrow by request, free of charge.
